Roosevelt Lake
Roosevelt Lake Dam
We left yesterday at 10 am not knowing where we were going to go. We ended up going up highway 88 through Apache Junction then through canyon lake then apache lake, all of these places cost $6 just to picnic. It was beautiful as far as the drive. We ended up parking on the side of Roosevelt Dam. We enjoyed a wonderful picnic then continued on. At the Far north Part of Roosevelt Lake the water was in the midst of trees, it looked like we were somewhere else, definately not AZ. Behind us was Four Peaks, highest point in central Az. We called Keith up and he told us the road to turn up and twelve miles of zig zagging and Dean throwing up, we finally made it to the trail head. We started a little after 3 pm. We started up. Several miles into the hike I asked Christine what time it was, 5:15 was her reply. We had just made it down this steep part of the trail which seemed to last forever coming down, "oh no" I thought. It was starting to get dark outside and the boys were tired from hiking. We turned around and made our way back. I was grumpy saying it nicely. Dean and Christian were starting to get scared, I had my gun on me. Finally in the dark we made it back to the van. Over all it was very fun, we saw nature, a fox, coyote and a skunk. The boys carried there own on the hike(I was very surprised). Anyways we had a lot of fun.

We will have to plan some fun hikes together. Dale and I want to try to go every saturday for a hike, maybe every 2 weeks now that it is cooler!
