We recently went North near Flagstaff. We were supposed to stay in Sedona at a timeshare but when we called to check on our reservation, they said, "Oh we called you at the beginning of the month and cancelled you". Liars, no message and we do have caller Id. Anyways we ended up camping instead. We got to Mormon Lake at 10:00pm and set up the tent, no one around for miles, we later found out why. In the middle of the night we woke up to the most disturbing noise. MOOOOOOOOO MOOOOOOOOO cows, everywhere. Fun stuff. We ate our breakfast, Christian and I went fishing at Upper Lake Mary, we saw a rattle snake in the road, then watched it get run over by a truck. We then went to 4 Lakes. Not one fish was caught. The Lady I spoke with said,"the abnormally high heat this week has lead the fish to not bite all that much. I did have several bites but they would always spit out the fly as soon as the looked at it. Christine made some wonderful food on our new gas stove, including some hot chocolate. Christian and Dean played and got dirty, Christian took a shovel and dug a hole, which late became our bathroom. We saw dozens of elk, I video recorded this Monster Elk in a field near our camping area. On wednesday we went to Out of Africa over in Camp Verde, AZ. Christiand and Dean were in heaven, It was such a hot day. We put on sun tan lotion and some got in Dean's eyes which we flushed out for a while. We rode this Huge Safari Bus. We saw Giraffes, Zebra, Lions, Tigers, Bears oh my. And so many other animals. Some of the highlites. A snake show where the boys and Christine got to pet the snakes(20+feet long). One fell in love with Christine and crawled up her, she did pretty well I thought. Considering a Cricket at home freaks her out, a 20ft long snake and she feels warm and cozy. We went and ate food, very expensive. Then we went and watched Tiger splash, a unrehearsed show where the tigers play and jump in this huge pool. Christian got to feed two of the Tigers a chunk of meat each. We then went to watch all the Predators get fed, 800 lbs of meat. The trip was really wonderful. On the way home the 17 was closed so we went the back way through Payson at a Mexican restaurant and came home. Boy, nothing beats getting home from a Vacation and sleeping in your own bed.
