Bright Angel hike in 2 ft of Snow

Well as you can guess, we spontaneously went to the Grand Canyon last week. We found a great deal at a hotel and went for 2 days. We went to the Bright Angel trail first. There was a path down the middle of the snow filled trail. It was a bit slippery so I ran back to the car to get our hiking sticks. We made it about a 1/4 mile and the boys were tired, a lot of playing in the snow can wear you out. We waited at the shuttle bus stop, we were one of the 1st in line. Everyone cut in front of us and we couldn't get on the bus so we had to wait another 30 plus minutes in the freezing cold till the next bus came. We rode on the shuttle bus for awhile getting off at Yavapai Point. We walked out to the point where it was getting pretty dark (about 5:30 pm). We hurried back to the Bus stop and it was SOOOOOOOOO cold. We all ran around the benches to stay warm. Finally the next bus came, HALLELUJAH!!!!! We rode back to the car and went to the Red Feather Lodge just outside the Grand Canyon entry. Dean and I slept in one bed in which he fell out of at least 2 times in the night. We went back to the canyon the next day and had fun on the Rim Trail, Mathers point was very beautiful. The snow was bright and beautiful! On the way back to Flagstaff we stopped right around mile marker 234 at 8,000 ft at a hill where there was lots of sledding going on. We had our little red sled with us and had lots of fun. We mad snow angels, Christian and Christine went down this very large hill. Dean and I threw snowballs. When we were leaving Christine slipped on a patch of ice while carrying Logan. She tried her best to save Logan she went down hard and knocked the air out of her and hurting her back and arms. She is better now. Other than that it was a wonderful trip.
